Be Authentic
The strength of our community lies in honesty and authenticity. To build trust, be yourself—your Moonwings account should reflect who you truly are. It’s intended for personal use, and the content you share should be your original creation.
Actions that go against our commitment to authenticity include impersonating others, spamming, ticket scalping, violating someone’s privacy, harassing others, or sharing anything illegal.
Stay Respectful
Moonwings is all about celebrating the joy of travel. This isn’t the place for arguments or offensive behavior. We’re a global community with diverse opinions, experiences, and preferences—let’s embrace and respect those differences.
Be a Positive Influence
We aim to foster a supportive environment. If you see a new member, help them feel welcome. Being a positive influence encourages others to behave the same way, making our community even stronger and more enjoyable.
And remember—don’t engage with trolls. They thrive on attention, so it’s best to ignore them and report any problematic behavior to us instead.
Prioritize Safety
Your safety is crucial, but it’s also your responsibility. Trust your instincts—if something doesn’t feel right, take caution. While Moonwings isn’t liable for the actions of community members, we encourage you to stay vigilant and protect yourself.
Share Valuable Insights
Your travel recommendations can make a significant impact on someone else’s journey. But to be genuinely helpful, consider not just what you say, but how you say it. Keep your tips clear, concise, and let your personality shine through.
Details Matter
The more specific you are, the more helpful your advice will be. Instead of simply saying that a restaurant’s food is good, tell us what you ordered, how it tasted, and why it stood out to you. Personal touches and unique details are what make recommendations truly valuable.
Be Honest, Yet Constructive
If something wasn’t up to par, don’t shy away from saying so—but do it constructively. For example, instead of just criticizing, offer helpful suggestions: “The lamb wasn’t great, but the service was fantastic, and the dessert was amazing.”
Avoid posting false information—it’s not only misleading but could have legal consequences. It’s simply not worth the risk!
Why We Might Remove Your Content
Although it’s rare, there are situations where we might need to remove content. Here’s why this might happen:
- Inappropriate Content: If your content includes offensive language, adult material, or anything deemed objectionable or obscene, it will be removed.
- Plagiarized or Infringing Content: If your content or images are copied from someone else and posted as your own, we will take them down.
- Conflict of Interest: Content should be unbiased and without strings attached. Avoid posting reviews of your own business or in exchange for money or freebies. Additionally, don’t review your employer or any business where you have a commercial interest. Fairness is key!
- Malicious Intent: Negative reviews or images posted in bad faith to harm a competitor or as a threat to get something are not allowed.
- Off-Topic Content: If your review or image doesn’t relate to the topic or discussion it’s posted under, we’ll remove it to keep the community organized and relevant.
How to Report Abuse
If you come across something that violates these guidelines, please let us know. It’s easy—just click the ‘Flag this’ button next to the content in question, and we’ll review it. Your help keeps the Moonwings community safe, welcoming, and useful.
Please note that we don’t intervene in disputes between business owners, competitors, customers, or ex-employees. We only remove content that violates our guidelines and Terms of Service. Thank you for understanding.
